Accutane

Accutane (isotretinoin) is a prescription medicine specially intended for people suffering from severe nodular acne. Such patients need to apply some topical remedy to make sure they can control their acne and prevent new outbreaks. Make sure you mention to your health care provider the fact of ever being diagnosed with the following health conditions, as a dose adjustment may be necessary: high cholesterol, liver disease, heart disease, a personal history of depression, eating disorder, asthma, a history of mental illness, bone disorders, diabetes, or high triglycerides. Never take more of Accutane than prescribed, as an overdose is possible. The following symptoms of an overdose are supposed to be reported directly to your health care provider before they get even worse: headache, problems with coordination, stomach pain, loss of balance, warmth or tingling under your skin, swelling of the lips, dizziness, and vomiting. Accutane has been reported to cause serious and life-threatening birth defects in unborn babies, with their ears, face, heart, brain etc. being affected. Pregnant women must never take Accutane and those potentially able to get pregnant must sign a special agreement under which they will be required to use two reliable birth protection forms.
